Digital Thermocouple or RTD Temperature Scanner Indicator

This Thermocouple/RTD scanner is perfect for any multi-point temperature measurement application. The bright red LED display is easy to read, even at a distance. Splash-resistant front panel keypad is easy to clean & wipe down. The meter has 2 user-selectable HI/LO, HI/HI, or LO/LO alarm set points, configured through the front panel push buttons. During an alarm condition, a front panel LED annunciator is enabled & an internal 2 Amp relay contact output is engaged. The meter display will cycle through all input channels at a user determined rate of 0.5~10 seconds. 24 VDC powered. A must have for multi-point temperature monitoring in the lab, control room, or dynamometer.

About the Digital Thermocouple/RTD Temperature Scanner Indicator

The digital thermocouple and RTD temperature scanner provides 8, 16, 24, or 32 individually configurable input channels within a single DIN-rail or panel-mount enclosure. This allows engineers to monitor multiple temperature measurement points from a single instrument, reducing the need for multiple single-channel devices and simplifying system wiring.

Each channel can be configured for a variety of sensor types, including Type J, K, T, or E thermocouples, as well as PT100 RTDs in 2-, 3-, or 4-wire configurations. This flexibility makes the scanner suitable for mixed-sensor installations where different measurement points require different sensing technologies.

Scanning Rate and Response in Process Monitoring

Multi-channel temperature scanners sample each input sequentially rather than simultaneously. As a result, the update rate for each channel decreases as the total number of channels increases.

For applications involving slow or steady-state thermal processes—such as furnace monitoring, HVAC systems, or general industrial equipment—this behavior typically does not impact performance. However, in applications where temperature changes rapidly, such as thermal shock testing or fast chemical reactions, it is important to verify that the per-channel update rate is sufficient to capture temperature changes accurately.

Alarm and Output Options

The scanner includes configurable alarm outputs that can be assigned to individual channels, groups of channels, or threshold-based conditions. This allows operators to monitor multiple measurement points and quickly identify fault conditions when temperature limits are exceeded.

Analog retransmission outputs are available to provide 4–20 mA signals for selected channels, enabling integration with PLCs or distributed control systems that require continuous analog temperature signals.
