S2A vs SC-200 LVDT Signal Conditioners

The S2A & SC-200 LVDT signal conditioner modules from Alliance Sensors Group, a division of H. G. Schaevitz LLC, utilize smart electronics for simple setup and operation, and are compatible with most LVDTs, RVDTs, and inductive half-bridge sensors.

Both LVDT signal conditioners have a similar outward appearance, however there are some important key operational differences between them.

The S2A is suitable for most LVDT’s and LVRT’s often found on steam, gas and hydroelectric turbines, specific to the power generation industry,

The S2A has user selectable excitation frequencies of 1, 3, 5, and 10kHz.

The SC-200 is suitable for most LVDT’s found in general industrial applications, including factory automation, part gaging, and process control.

The SC-200 has user selectable excitation frequencies of 2.5, 5, 7.5, and 10kHz.

If the S2A detects a sensor-related issue, the module's fault-response output is activated, certain front panel LEDs are illuminated, and the analog output is driven to a low out-of-range value.

If the SC-200 detects a sensor-related issue, the module's fault-response output is activated, the same front panel LEDs are illuminated, but the analog output remains unchanged.
